A Stormy day Paddle-boarding (and Freediving) in the Cayman Islands

Making the most of being allowed outside again!

Three months now into the lockdown, and like the rest of the world, restrictions here in the Cayman Islands seem to be easing. What has been absolutely killer throughout the last few months is looking out over the beautiful Caribbean Sea everyday without actually being allowed to go enjoy it. (A nice problem to have I know!)

The moment that the restrictions started to ease we took full advantage of the natural beauty found here like never before – it’s amazing how being deprived of something you always took for granted reminds you how much you actually value it!

Fortunately – a couple of my work friends have access to a couple of paddleboards, and so Candace and I chose a stormy morning to paddle out the barrier reef and have a swim around. The marine life as always was abundant and it felt great to get back into the water again!

SCUBA Diving is still not permitted currently however, hopefully this will change with the next stage of COVID suppression and we can get back to what we do best – taking folks diving!
